ANDREWS, S.C. — A Coast Guard helicopter crew evacuated an 88-year-old woman and her two grandchildren from their home, Wednesday, in Andrews.

The woman and her grandchildren, reported no injuries.

A crew aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, was conducting a flight in support of flood response efforts over portions of South Carolina when a crewmember aboard spotted the three people waving their arms, standing in a field. The woman's house was surrounded by water, so the decision was made to transport her and her grandchildren to safety.

The crew embarked all three and transported them to Robert F. Swinnie Airport in Andrews, where they were met by family.
