What: The retirement and recognition of volunteer members of U.S. Coast Guard forces who give of their time for no financial compensation to assist in the safety and security of the United States and save lives through search and rescue patrols and boating safety education.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The media are invited Saturday afternoon to observe the Coast Guard Auxiliary Retirement and Recognition Ceremony event in San Antonio as the Coast Guard pays tribute to several of its volunteer members; one of whom who served for twenty-six years.
The event is a ceremony and formal dinner of the United States Coast Guard, marking the impact of their service to the Coast Guard and the American Public.This is also a significant event because this all-volunteer unit celebrates 2016 as its 50th year of service to San Antonio area, and the United States. There will also be awards presented to these Coast Guard volunteers.
