NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard continues to respond to a vessel that was taking on water approximately 50 miles south of Grand Isle, Louisiana, Monday.
At approximately 4:09 p.m. the crew of the fishing vessel reported that they had plugged the hole that caused the flooding.
The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon from Grand Isle arrived on scene at approximately 1p.m. and is monitoring the vessel as it navigates back to shore.

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is no longer responding to the site of an oil production platform fire in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 80 miles south of Grand Isle, Louisiana, Monday.
The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement reported that there were no hotspots or major pollution threats aboard the platform.
Over flights were conducted on January 9 with no reports of sheening on the water.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by BSEE.

At 2:35 p.m. watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report from a private helicopter of a 17-foot johnboat with three people on board that was taking on water in the Atchafalaya Bay, Louisiana. BOSTON — A Coast Guard 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew along with the Provincetown Harbormaster and Provincetown Police and Fire Departments rescued a fisherman after he fell overboard Saturday night near MacMillan Pier in Provincetown.
Coast Guard watchstanders received a mayday call from the fishing vessel Resolute at around 9:30 pm Saturday stating a crewmember had fell overboard near the pier.

Effective at midnight on Saturday, vessel traffic will be permitted to resume through the Hampton Roads COTP zone for all vessels bound to or from locations in the Maryland-National Capital Region COTP zone. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a cell phone call for assistance at approximately 7:30 a.m. from a person aboard a 17-foot flat-bottomed boat that was swamped near Lake Lery in Reggio, Louisiana.
There were three men and a dog aboard the boat.
