SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The crew of a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter rescued a distressed surfer Tuesday morning just off Wilderness Beach in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The rescued surfer was reported to be a U.S. citizen on vacation in Puerto Rico. The surfer was initially located by the crew of a Coast Guard helicopter from Air Station Borinquen that was flying a training mission when they noticed the surfer had drifted significantly offshore and appeared to be in distress.... MIAMI – The Coast Guard medevacked a 66-year-old woman Sunday from the Carnival Conquest cruise ship 27 miles north of Cat Island, Bahamas. Watchstanders at the Seventh Coast Guard District Command Center received a call from the crew of the Conquest stating one of the passengers developed symptoms of a stroke. MIAMI — The Coast Guard repatriated 63 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, since Dec. 2. The Coast Guard Cutter Paul Clark crew repatriated six Cuban migrants Monday and another 57 Cuban migrants Friday. These repatriations are a result of five separate at-sea migrant interdictions in the South Florida Straits. A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew and four good Samaritan boat crews began the search after the sinking of motor vessel Exito 14 miles northeast of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, Tuesday evening.
