NEW ORLEANS –The Coast Guard and local agencies are continuing to search for two people in the water after a plane crashed in Lake Pontchartrain near Lake Front Airport, Satuday.  A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and a 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Coast Guard Station New Orleans have been doing search patterns in the area since the initial report of the crash. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries assisted with side-scan sonar and was able to locate what appears to be wings.... [Read More]

A release of liquid chlorine was reported from a rail car at the Axiall Corporation Facility. An unknown amount of product has been released into the ground and air creating a plume that is traveling south down the river. BOSTON — Four people are safely making their way back to port Friday following a multi-asset response to a fishing boat taking on water Friday morning about 60 miles southeast of Vinalhaven, Maine. A person aboard fishing vessel Tyler, homeported in Gloucester, used a VHF radio to contact watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Northern New England’s command center at about 7:30 a.m. and reported their boat was rapidly taking on water with four people aboard.
