SEATTLE — The Coast Guard suspended the search for the 81-year-old man who went missing after reportedly going overboard on the ferry Kennewick, Thursday evening. Coast Guard air and boat crews and local agencies searched the area near Whidbey Island for approximately 12 hours, covering a 300-mile radius. MIAMI — The Coast Guard repatriated 55 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, since Aug. 12. The Coast Guard Cutter Isaac Mayo crew repatriated 36 Cuban migrants Tuesday, and the Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber crew repatriated 19 Cuban migrants Thursday. These repatriations are a result of four separate at-sea migrant interdictions in the South Florida Straits. CAPE MAY, N.J. – A recruit who passed away while attending basic training was honored, Friday, during the graduation ceremony for his recruit company at Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. Seaman Recruit Aaron Redd became an honorary graduate of recruit-company Delta 193. Redd joined the Coast Guard, June 28 and reported to Training Center Cape May that same day. MIAMI — The Coast Guard rescued two people from a downed Piper Seneca aircraft Friday at 11:45 a.m. about 23-miles west of Fort Lauderdale. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami was in the area, heard the radio call and diverted from their patrol. NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued an additional two people due to flooding in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, area Wednesday evening.  Coast Guard crews, under the coordination of Coast Guard Sector New Orleans, are operating in support of the state of Louisiana, the Governor's office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the Louisiana National Guard. DULUTH, Minn. — The Twin Ports will host the Tall Ships Duluth Festival from Thursday through Sunday, and the U.S. Coast Guard has established and will enforce a safety zone around each tall ship participating in the festival while navigating on the Great Lakes.
