WALDPORT, Ore. — The Coast Guard suspended the search Friday night for 69-year-old Michael Carosella, the kayaker who went missing in Alsea Bay Thursday.
The suspension was announced around 9 p.m. following a 32-hour, multi-agency search of 410 square miles along the Oregon coast.... [Read More]

NEW YORK — Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Fire Island rescued two people after their boat ran aground near East Fire Island, Friday.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., Friday, Sector Long Island Sound watchstanders received a call from Suffolk County Dispatch with a report of a vessel aground with eight people aboard, near Great Captain’s Island, New York

BOSTON — The Coast Guard rescued three people from the water after their boat overturned in Pamet Harbor, Massachusetts.
At 3:15 p.m., the owner of a 14-foot aluminum boat reported to Coast Guard Station Provincetown watchstanders that he had lent his boat to three people, and they were in distress after the boat flipped.
The owner was on land at the time. After the boat capsized, one of the three contacted him for help, and he called the Coast Guard.... [Read More]

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Coast Guard aircrew and a good Samaritan rescued 67-year-old Sam Jingles and his wife, 57-year-old Lisa Jingles after they crashed into a mile marker in Baffin Bay early Thursday morning.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Mr. Jingles was able to get a phone call to local police. They notified Coast Guard Station Port O'Connor watchstanders that two people had been hanging onto their capsized 41-foot center-console boat since colliding with mile marker 26 around midnight. ... [Read More]
