Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center received a call Friday night at 9 p.m., from Brannan Island State Park of an overdue Jet Ski with three people aboard. SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard rescued a woman in Lake Tahoe at approximately 7:50 p.m. Thursday evening. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center received a call at 5:50 p.m., from Coast Guard Station Lake Tahoe, notifying the command center of a request for assistance from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard and other agencies are continuing to respond to a crude oil spill near Lake Ecaille, Friday. Recovery efforts have yielded approximately 375 gallons of oily water mixture and 250 bags of soiled sorbents. ES&H, an oil spill response organization, has deployed approximately 3,000 feet of hard containment boom to prevent further impact to unaffected areas. MILWAUKEE – The Coast Guard rescued a man in Lake Michigan near Waukegan, Illinois, Wednesday night. The man’s name and hometown are not being released and there is no imagery available. At 10:30 p.m. watch standers at Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan, in Milwaukee, received notification of the missing man from his friend. MIAMI — A boater who was reported overdue to the Coast Guard arrived in the Bahamas Thursday after being delayed due to engine trouble. Venice Graham left Hallandale Beach around 8 p.m. Wednesday to transit to South Bimini. A friend contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard District 7 at about 9 a.m. Thursday to report Graham overdue. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are responding to a crude oil discharge near Southwest Pass, Thursday. An estimated maximum potential of 840 gallons of crude oil reportedly discharged from a flowline, owned by Texas Petroleum Management, into a marsh. The flowline is reportedly secured.
