BEAUMONT, Texas – The Coast Guard Safety Zone on the Neches River was lifted Tuesday morning.
All vessel traffic may transit without restriction. However, the Coast Guard still requests that mariners observe a minimal wake zone through the affected area.

NEW YORK – A Coast Guard Station New London rescue crew and Seatow salvage vessel assist a 36-foot vessel taking on water in Sandy Point, Stonington, Connecticut, Tuesday.
At approximately 10:38 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound Command Center received a call via VHF-Channel 16, from Seatow Eastern Connecticut, stating a vessel with four people and a dog aboard were taking on water and needed assistance.... [Read More]

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew, from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria in Warrenton, Ore., medevacs a 52-year-old woman after she fell down a canyon 10 miles East of Manzanita, May 30, 2016.
The medevac came at the request of Tillamook County Sheriff's Office personnel and ended with the helicopter crew safely transferring the woman to staff at Tillamook Regional Medical Center.

ALAMEDA, Calif. — The Coast Guard suspended its active search for a possible missing aircraft Monday evening.
11th Coast Guard District watchstanders were notified at approximately 5:30 a.m., Monday by personnel at the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center of a plane that went missing on its transit from Catalina Island to Van Nuys Airport in Van Nuys around 3 p.m. Saturday.

SAULT STE MARIE, Mich. — The U.S. Coast Guard continues to monitor and respond to the motor vessel Roger Blough, Tuesday, after the vessel ran aground Friday afternoon on Gros Cap Reef in Whitefish Bay in Lake Superior.

SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard medically evacuated an 81-year-old woman approximately 33 miles west of La Jolla, California, Monday.
At approximately 9 p.m. Monday, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Diego received a report from the crew of cruise ship Carnival Imagination stating that a female passenger was experiencing heart-attack like symptoms.

WARRENTON, Ore. — A Coast Guard aircrew rescued two people stranded on Wallace Island in the Columbia River, Sunday.

NEW YORK — A Coast Guard Station Fire Island boatcrew rescued a woman in distress near Kismet Beach, New York, Monday.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound received report, from Suffolk County Dispatch, of a woman who entered the water near Kismet Beach and was in distress.
Good Samaritans on the beach lost sight of the woman due to dense fog in the area and began to hear shouting coming from the woman’s direction.... [Read More]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— The Coast Guard is searching for a missing 54-year-old man in the water 17 miles southwest of Steinhatchee, Florida, Monday.
Missing is Edward Viola, 54, from Steinhatchee.

HOUSTON — A family member of the missing man called Coast Guard search coordinators at 8:05 a.m. Monday, reporting she and other family members found his body in the water by the shore, near where he went missing in San Luis Pass.
Missing was Stephen Espedal.
Coast Guard crews searched throughout the night with other responders, but were unable to locate him. The search began after Espedal attempted to rescue a woman in distress in the strong current Sunday evening.

BEAUMONT, Texas — The Coast Guard Captain of the Port closed a section of the Neches River Saturday, after a pipeline at the Jefferson Energy Terminal released an estimated 880 gallons of Eagle Ford crude oil in the Neches River.
The source of the leak has been secured.
The Neches ship channel is closed to all vessel traffic and a Coast Guard safety zone has been established from the Kansas City Southern Railroad Bridge to just below the Enterprise docks and navigation light 46. HOUSTON — Flood levels and record setting water current coming from the San Jacinto River caused a closure of the Houston Ship Channel after 12 barges broke free Sunday.
The Houston Ship Channel was closed to all traffic from light 111 to light 128 from 8:49 a.m. to 1:06 p.m. and was then open to ships, but restricted for barge traffic. At 3:45 p.m., the earlier restriction was lifted and barges began to be allowed to come inbound between light 125 and 131 with an assist tug.
