COPIAGUE, N.Y. — Coast Guard and local first responders respond to a boat fire near Great Neck Creek, in Long Island, New York, Saturday.
At 10:29 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound watchstanders received a call reporting there was a 26-foot pleasure craft on fire with two people aboard in the vicinity of Great Neck Creek in Copiague, New York on VHF-FM radio channel 16.
Sector Long Island Sound immediately issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and launched Station Fire Island to the scene ... [Read More]

COPIAGUE, N.Y. — Coast Guard and local first responders respond to a boat fire near Great Neck Creek, in Long Island, New York, Saturday.

BOSTON — The Coast Guard, along with other agencies, responded to a call of an overturned boat Saturday in Buzzard's Bay.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England's command center received notification at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday of an overturned 14-foot recreational boat with two people aboard.
A 45-foot response boat crew from Station Cape Cod Canal and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod launched to search the area.

A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, Alaska, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced a 23-year-old man from a fishing vessel near Sitkinak Island, south of Kodiak, April 29, 2016.
The man contacted Coast Guard Sector Anchorage watchstanders reporting that he was unable to get back to Kodiak and was suffering from symptoms of diabetic shock.

A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, Alaska, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced a 23-year-old man from a fishing vessel near Sitkinak Island, south of Kodiak, April 29, 2016.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The Coast Guard is investigating three laser strike incidents during a five-day period that were aimed at Coast Guard aircraft in Aguadilla Bay, Puerto Rico, and warns the public that pointing handheld lasers at any aircraft and Coast Guard crews is dangerous and illegal.
