ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.− The Coast Guard and partner agencies, with the help of Good Samaritans, found a missing jet skier in the vicinity of the Dunedin (Florida) Causeway, Thursday. Rescued was Wallistein Hopkins, 48, Clearwater. At 9:03 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a 911 transfer call from Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reporting a woman wearing a life jacket had swam to shore after her jet ski began sinking shortly before sunset. She reported her boyfriend, Hopkins, had remained with the jet ski blowing a whistle. ... [Read More]

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The body of the final missing man from a capsized boat was located by a Georgia Department of Natural Resources search crew at approximately 10:53 a.m., Thursday near the Sidney Lanier Bridge. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Charleston command center were initially notified of a capsized boat in the Brunswick River at approximately 7:15 p.m., Wednesday. ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard rescued three men Thursday from their life raft approximately six miles east of Cape May, New Jersey. The Coast Guard received a request for assistance from the captain aboard the 42-foot boat Last Stand, reporting they were sinking following a collision with the 78-foot Tug Dean Reinauer. A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May launched to assist. The RB-M crew arrived on scene and took the three boaters aboard from their life raft.... [Read More]

BOSTON — The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Moray towed the 60-foot fishing boat Paulo Marc after it became disabled Wednesday about 90 miles east of Portland, Maine. Watchstanders at Sector Northern New England’s command center received notification at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday that the Paulo Marc, homeported in Gloucester, was disabled with four people aboard. LOS ANGELES – The Coast Guard is searching for an overdue vessel near Santa Cruz Island, Wednesday.Coast Guard watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received a call from Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol at 12:30 p.m., reporting that Honokai, a 27-foot ranger tug with two individuals aboard and possibly two dogs was overdue. The boaters departed Santa Barbara Friday, in route to Santa Cruz Island and were scheduled to return Monday.
