LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 23-year-old man from the USS Princeton, a Navy guided missile cruiser approximately 30 miles south of Point Conception, Tuesday. At 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach command center received a report that a male aboard the Navy ship was experiencing symptoms of appendicitis. MIAMI — An 88-year-old man was rescued by a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from the Carnival Victory cruise ship northwest of Cuba Sunday. Rescued was Herman Steidel Lebron, 88, from Puerto Rico. Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District command center received the report from the Victory stating Lebron suffered internal injuries during the cruise.
