CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard is searching for four boaters in distress, Saturday, off the coast of Seabrooke Island.

Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector Charleston command center were notified of the situation at approximately 11 a.m. A woman reported receiving a text from her sister aboard a 27-foot center console boat, named the No Problem, with possibly four people aboard. The report also stated the boat was taking on water, but the location of the distress was not clear at the time.

Crews aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston and a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Charleston were launched to search for the boaters. Additionally, the crew aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Maria Bray was diverted to investigate a possible fishing area known as Comanche Reef.

Also involved in the search are crews from the St. Johns Fire Rescue.
