Coast Guard Commandant to deliver the annual State of the Coast Guard Address at the Capitol Visitor Center

WASHINGTON — Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft will deliver the 2016 State of the Coast Guard Address Feb. 23, 2016, at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

This will be Adm. Zukunft’s second State of the Coast Guard Address and he will participate in a media availability event immediately following the address.

WHO: Adm. Paul Zukunft, commandant, U.S. Coast Guard

WHAT: Following the annual release of the President’s Budget Request to Congress, the Commandant of the Coast Guard delivers the State of the Coast Guard Address. This annual speech affords the commandant a venue to recognize Service accomplishments, reinforce his strategic intent and provide direction for the coming year. 

WHEN: The address will begin at 2:00 p.m., Feb. 23, 2016

WHERE: The United States Capitol, Capitol Visitor Center Congressional Auditorium

In case of inclement weather that closes the Capitol, the alternate date is Feb. 26, 2016 at 11.00 a.m. in the CDR Raymond Evans Conference Center at Coast Guard Headquarters.
