COAST GUARD COVERS 600 SQNM IN SEARCH FOR MISSING CRUISE SHIP PASSENGER

MIAMI — The Coast Guard is continuing the search for a woman who fell from a cruise ship, 22 nautical miles off the coast of Cuba.Missing is Kaylyn Rose Sommer, 24-years old, of Charleston, South Carolina.Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District command center received the initial report at approximately 7 p.m. from crew of the Norwegian Pearl stating that a woman had fallen from the deck of the ship 122 nautical miles west-southwest of Havana, Cuba.The Coast Guard Cutter Alligator and an aircrew aboard a HC-130 from Air Station Clearwater have now searched more than 600 square nautical miles. An aircrew aboard an HC-144 from Air Station Miami will join the search late Friday.
