SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Eleventh Coast Guard District invites the public to comment on the proposed establishment of a security zone around any vessel escorted by one or more Coast Guard, state or local law-enforcement assets while in navigable waters encompassing the Captain of the Port Zone, Los Angeles-Long Beach.
This action being proposed in the security zone is necessary to protect personnel, vessels and facilities from sabotage or other subversive acts, accidents or events of a similar nature.
The comment period will be open until December 17, 2015. We invite the public to make comments regarding the proposed security zone.
