Editor's note: Name Louis Thibodeaux corrected to Kibodeaux

LAKE CHARLES, La. — Coast Guard air and boat crews, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's and Cameron Parish Sheriff's are searching for a man who went missing after his john boat capsized near Willow Lake, Monday evening.

Missing is Louis Thibodeaux, 42, described as being about 200 pounds and last seen in a plaid shirt without a life jacket.

At approximately 6:50 p.m., Kirby dispatch notified Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders that a vessel, the Helen Merrill, discovered a capsized 12-foot john boat and recovered a 26-year-old woman showing symptoms of shock.

Watchstanders diverted a Station Lake Charles 24-foot boat crew and an Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew to the scene.

The boat crew sent two crew members aboard the Helen Merrill and administered first aid to the woman, then took her on the response boat to the Highway 384 bridge where EMS was waiting.
