BOSTON — The Coast Guard flew a 86-year-old woman from Nantucket Cottage Hospital to Boston late Sunday night, after an emergent medical condition became severe.
At about 10:12 p.m., Nantucket Cottage Hospital contacted watchstanders at the First Coast Guard District command center requesting assistance due to low visibility restricting MedFlight ability to fly.
Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod launched a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter at about 11 p.m. The air crew arrived at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, brought the woman aboard and flew to Logan International Airport, where they were met by EMS.
The woman was successfully transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
