NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 60 year-old woman from a cruise ship approximately 14 miles south of Southwest Pass, Louisiana, Monday morning.
On Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m. watchstanders at the Eighth Coast Guard District Command Center received a call from the cruise ship Carnival Triumph requesting the medevac of a woman in need of dialysis.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans directed the launch of a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Venice, Louisiana.
The boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the passenger to awaiting emergency medical services at Station Venice at 1:30 a.m. in stable condition.
