BOSTON — The Coast Guard transferred a 70-year old injured man Wednesday from Star Island, New Hampshire after he suffered a hand injury while on his sailboat.
At about 5:07 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor took the initial call from Rockingham County dispatch who requested the transport.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., the 47-foot response boat crew launched and arrived at the Star Island pier where the medic was waiting with the patient.
The boat crew assisted the man aboard and rushed him back to the station where local Emergency Medical Services was waiting to take him to the hospital for further care.
