PORTLAND, Ore. — The Coast Guard and various Portland area first responders are searching the Columbia River from Camas to Tomahawk Island, Sunday morning for a possible man overboard after a 16-foot pleasure craft was found unmanned and adrift a mile east of the I-205 Bridge.The 16-foot vessel with the boat engine down, fishing gear aboard, ice, lifejacket and various personal items was found adrift by a good Samaritan boater who reported the sighing to the Clark County officials at approximately 5 a.m., Sunday.Personnel at Coast Guard Sector Columbia River, located in Warrenton, were notified at 5:07 a.m., and immediately launched rescue crews aboard a 29-foot Response Boat - Small II, from Station Portland and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, from Sector Columbia River. Portland and Vancouver Fire Department personnel are also searching with three fire boats."There is a strong presence of responders on and above the water this morning searching for somebody in the water, but there has been no report of someone visibly in distress," said Chief Petty Officer Justin Urbano, command duty officer, Sector Columbia River. "The Coast Guard requests any information concerning a missing person known to be boating in the area be reported to Sector Columbia River watchstanders at 503-861-6211 or your local law enforcement agency."
