LONG BEACH, Wash. — The Coast Guard and responders from Pacific County are searching for a women who was swept into the ocean off Long Beach at 10:15 p.m., Wednesday.

The Coast Guard has launched rescue crews aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, from Sector Columbia River in Warrenton, Oregon, and a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat, from Station Cape Disappointment in Ilwaco, to search for a 5-foot 5 inch tall and 130 pound women.

The boyfriend of the woman reported the incident to Pacific County 911 dispatch, who then notified Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment. Watchstanders at Sector Columbia River Command Center were notified at 10:37 p.m., and immediately launched an aircrew to conduct searches.

"We are on scene and searching and using every capability we have to come out with a happy outcome," said Lt. Adriana Gaenzle, command duty officer, Sector Columbia River Command Center. " Our thoughts are with family and friends of the missing woman."

The water and air temperature off Long Beach is 60 degrees.
