Boston — Capt. Timothy A. Tobiasz is slated to relieve Capt. Stephen H. Torpey as Air Station Cape Cod's commanding officer during a change of command ceremony Saturday.

There will be parking available outside of Hangars 3172 and 3181 for media members. Media members will be escorted by a representative from Air Station Cape Cod onto Joint Base Cape Cod and taken to the event location. Interviews with the commanding officer will be available.

With its four MH-60T Jayhawk helicopters and three HC-144A Ocean Sentry turbo prop aircrafts, Air Station Cape Cod is the only Coast Guard Aviation facility in the Northeast. As such, Air Station Cape Cod is responsible for the waters from New Jersey to the Canadian border. In an average year, the crew at Air Station Cape Cod conducts 250 search and rescue cases, save 58 lives, medically evacuates 50 people, and assists 89 people in distress.
