WARRENTON, Ore. — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bluebell is scheduled to hold a change-of-command ceremony at Marine Safety Unit Portland, Friday.
Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan Placido will transfer command to Chief Warrant Officer Christopher Boss during a ceremony presided over by Rear Adm. Richard Gromlich, commander, Coast Guard 13th District.
The change-of-command ceremony is a time-honored tradition and deeply rooted in Coast Guard and Naval history. The event signifies a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability for the command. All available unit personnel attend the ceremony to witness the transfer of command.
