The new yellow paint scheme is part of the centennial celebration of Coast Guard aviation and represents the paint scheme used in the late 1940s and early 1950s by the Coast Guard and Navy.

WARRENTON, Ore. — Coast Guard personnel at Sector Columbia River are scheduled to host an open house celebrating 100 years of Coast Guard aviation on the grounds of the sector headquarters in Warrenton, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is free, open to the public and will be family friendly with static displays featuring the centennial yellow-painted MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Sector North Bend, C-27 Spartan fixed-wing airplane from Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento, California, various Coast Guard boats, Warrenton and Astoria Fire Department fire trucks and an Oregon National Guard tactical vehicle.
