An Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and HC-130 Hercules aircrews flew approximately 220 miles southeast of Kodiak to conduct the hoists.

JUNEAU, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, Alaska, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew medevaced a 32-year-old man and a 28-year-old man from the 738-foot cargo ship Cemtex Venture approximately 220 miles southeast of Kodiak, Tuesday.
The Jayhawk crew safely hoisted the men and rendezvoused with emergency medical services personnel in Kodiak where one patient was transferred by LifeMed to Anchorage and the other to Kodiak Providence Hospital.
Coast Guard 17th District watchstanders received a report from the crew of the Cemtex Venture that two crewmembers suffered injuries as a result of falls during heavy weather. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended that the crewmembers be taken to a higher level of medical care. Watchstanders requested that the ship alter its course toward Kodiak Island to get within range of the Coast Guard helicopters.
Tuesday afternoon, a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and HC-130 airplane crew launched from Kodiak to rendezvous with the ship and medevac the crewmembers.
"Air Station Kodiak's focus on training, standardization and teamwork enables us to safely and successfully carry out long range rescue missions," said Petty Officer 1st Class Jared Buchmiller, 17th District command center watchstander. "This allows us the ability to respond to medical cases involving mariners transiting through Alaskan waters."
Weather on scene was reported as 18 mph winds and 19-foot seas.
