Multimedia Release: Coast Guard surfman honored by Washington State governor at Capitol tree lighting ceremony

Petty Officer 2nd Class James Thrall, a boatswain’s mate and surfman assigned to Coast Guard Station Quillayute River in La Push, Wash., and his family are honored by Washington State Governor Jay Inslee at the annual tree lighting ceremony at the Washington State Capitol building in Olympia, Wash., Dec. 5, 2014. 

Thrall’s 5-year-old son, Jaret, counted down to the lighting of the 25-foot tree during the ceremony.
