Photo Release: Coast Guard hosts naturalization ceremony during Portland, Ore., Rose Festival

New citizens of the United States take their oath of citizenship aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Waesche during a naturalization ceremony held in Portland, Ore., June 5, 2015.

During the ceremony, 19 people renounced citizenship to their former countries to become members of the United States of America.

New citizens say their first ever Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America after receiving their citizenship during a naturalization ceremony held aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Waesche in Portland, Ore., June 5, 2015.

During the ceremony, these new citizens renounced to their former countries, including Germany, Russia, South Africa, Canada and Mexico, to become members of the United States of America.

With her husband and two sons looking on in support, Zakharov renounced her citizenship to Russia and became a citizen of the United States of America.
