PHILADELPHIA - Rep. Charlie Dent visited Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia to learn about the Coast Guard's multi-mission role in the region, Monday.
The tour, hosted by Capt. Benjamin Cooper, the commander of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, was composed of a visit to local Philadelphia units, such as the Coast Guard Cutter Cleat, Sector Delaware Bay and Coast Guard Station Philadelphia. After a boat ride on the Delaware River to provide an area of operation perspective, Cooper discussed the roles the Coast Guard performs, such as maritime safety and security, law enforcement, search and rescue, as well as aids to navigation.
