MIAMI — The Coast Guard and Joint Task Force Matthew provided relief supplies and conducted post-storm damage assessment flights for Jeremie, Haiti, on Saturday following a direct impact to the area by Hurricane Matthew.

A Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron Jacksonville MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew embarked on the Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton conducted post-storm damage assessment flights and reported damage to infrastructure in Jeremie.

Coast Guard crews continue to provide logistical assistance and support to disaster relief operations in Haiti.

Jocelerme Privert, interim president of Haiti, Leopold Berlanger, the president of the Provisional Electoral Council, and Peter F. Mulrean, U.S. Ambassador to Haiti, joined Coast Guard crews to assess damage and visit the people of Jeremie.

The Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton is a 418-foot National Security Cutter homeported in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Coast Guard Cutter Elm, a 225-foot Seagoing Buoy Tender homeported in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.

The Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane, a 270-foot Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Portsmouth, Virginia.

The Coast Guard Cutter Thetis, a 270-foot Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Key West.
