NEW YORK – Coast Guard members from Station Sandy Hook, New Jersey participated in the 123rd anniversary for the Pledge of Allegiance being given at the Twin Lights Historic Landmark, Highland, New Jersey, April 25, 2016.
Station Sandy Hook crewmembers were given the honor of presenting colors during the anniversary ceremony and the unveiling of the Twin Lights Museum’s newest exhibit entitled, “Seeing Stars: Every Flag tells a Story,”
April 25th, 2016 marks the 123rd anniversary of the day when the Pledge of Allegiance was given at the Twin lights as the national oath of loyalty for the first time. The event was held on the spot where the pledge was recited by its author, Francis Bellamy.
