UNIFIED COMMAND TO ESTABLISH MLB ALL STAR GAME SAFETY, SECURITY ZONES

CINCINNATI — The Coast Guard, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies will begin additional maritime safety and security operations on the Ohio River in support of the 86th Major League Baseball All Star Game, Thursday.

Boaters can expect no wake zones, interruptions and closures to maritime traffic.

A schedule of important maritime safety zone and waterway information is as follows:

Friday through Tuesday: A no wake zone will be enforced between the I-471 and I-71 bridges.

Saturday: A safety zone will be established for the fireworks display between the Clay Wade Bridge (US-25/42/127) and the Suspension Bridge (KY-17) extending from the Ohio bank to the middle of the channel from 8p.m. to 12 a.m. The Ohio River will be closed to commercial traffic from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. from mile marker 469.5 to 471.2.

Monday: The Ohio River will be closed to commercial traffic from 8:00 p.m to 12 a.m. from mile marker 469.5 to 471.2 for the MLB All Star Home Run Derby and fireworks display.

Tuesday: The Ohio River will be closed to commercial traffic from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. from mile marker 469.5 to 471.2 for the MLB All Star Game.

There will be a media availability held Thursday for an opportunity to talk about boating safety, conditions of the river, and the increased Coast Guard presence and patrols from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment Cincinnati. 3653 River Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45204.
