NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard has completed their search for a missing fisherman after the Grand Isle Police Department identified the body of Larkeis Durell Bradford, 25, Tuesday.
A good Samaritan located the body of Bradford on the beach near Grand Isle at about 7:30 p.m.
Bradford was last seen fishing from the Grand Isle Beach in the vicinity of Walnut Lane. He was reported missing to Coast Guard Sector New Orleans at about 11 a.m., Sunday.
"Coast Guard Sector New Orleans would also like to extend their appreciation to the various agencies and volunteers for their support in the search effort,” said Chief Petty Officer Shawn Mount, Command Duty Officer, Coast Guard Sector New Orleans.
The Coast Guard searched 1,112 square miles with surface and air assets, along with Coast Guard Auxiliary, Grand Isle Police and Fire Departments.
