BOSTON — The Coast Guard has suspended its search Tuesday evening for a swimmer that was reported to have gone missing near Biddeford Pool, Maine.
The Coast Guard was notified at approximately 3:45 p.m. of the possible missing swimmer and began searching along with local agencies.
The search was suspended pending further development at around 8:45 p.m. after crews saturated the search area for approximately five hours.
The search included a 29-foot rescue boat crew from Station South Portland, a 49-foot buoy utility stern loading boat crew from Aids to Navigation Team South Portland, and an MH-60 Jayhawk crew from Air Station Cape Cod.
In addition to Coast Guard crews, the Maine Marine Patrol, Biddeford Police Department, Saco Fire Department, and three divers from Maine State Police all searched the area.
No substantial leads were found and there are currently no correlating reports of a missing person in the area.
