PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced an ailing man from a cruise ship Saturday approximately 70 miles south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.Watchstanders at the Coast Guard 5th District Command Center in Portsmouth received a call from the 965-foot cruise ship Carnival Pride at approximately 3 p.m., requesting a medevac for a 47-year-old passenger experiencing health complications.An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, launched at approximately 4 p.m.The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 4:40 p.m., hoisted the man to the helicopter and took him to Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, North Carolina.
