Media Advisory: Coast Guard Cutter Bluebell to hold change-of-command ceremony

WARRENTON, Ore. — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bluebell is scheduled to hold a change-of-command ceremony at Marine Safety Unit Portland, Friday.

Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan Placido will transfer command to Chief Warrant Officer Christopher Boss during a ceremony presided over by Rear Adm. Richard Gromlich, commander, Coast Guard 13th District.

The change-of-command ceremony is a time-honored tradition and deeply rooted in Coast Guard and Naval history. The event signifies a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability for the command. All available unit personnel attend the ceremony to witness the transfer of command.

Media wishing to attend must contact Petty Officer 3rd Class Jonathan Klingenberg at 503-321-6132 before 9 a.m., Friday, in order to ensure access to the base.
