CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard and local agencies in and around the Charleston area joined forces for a joint, mass rescue exercise in Charleston Harbor, Wednesday.
More than 90 people were rescued from a simulated distress aboard the General Beauregard, a Charleston-based passenger vessel. The 23 participating agencies worked together to ensure the safety of the passengers while sharpening their overall communication and inter-agency cooperation.
