
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla— The Coast Guard medevaced a 50-year-old man from a boat 2 miles west of Gasparilla Island, Florida, Sunday.
Watchstanders from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach, Florida, received a 911 transfer call from Lee County, Florida, dispatch, reporting a 50-year-old man in need of emergency medical assistance.
A 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Coast Guard Station Cortez, Florida, was diverted, arrived on scene and transferred the man to the boat. Boca Grand (Florida) EMT personnel arrived on scene, embarked the Coast Guard boat and conducted CPR on the man while en-route to Boca Grande Marina. The man was transferred to Boca Grand EMS at Millers Marina, Florida, for further medical assistance.
