LOS ANGELES – The Coast Guard medevaced an individual experiencing symptom of shock after previously falling overboard from a passenger vessel, 6 miles off Anacapa Island, Sunday.
Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles- Long Beach watch standers received a call from the passenger vessel stating that an individual had been recovered from the water after falling overboard and was subsequently showing symptoms requiring medical attention.
The Coast Guard launched a 45-foot Response Boat- Medium boat crew from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands to assist the individual at 2:15 p.m.
Coast Guard Station Channel Islands boat crew arrived on scene at 2:30 p.m. where the assessment was made to proceed with a medevac of the individual.
The individual was taken to Channel Islands Harbor where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical services.
The Coast Guard will conduct a casualty investigation surrounding the circumstances of the person falling overboard.
