VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Coast Guard medevaced a man Saturday from a boat on the Little Creek Jetty in Norfolk.
Watchstanders at Station Little Creek were notified at approximately 6:35 p.m. of a 24-foot boat which ran aground on the east side of the Little Creek Jetty carrying two people. One passenger aboard had suffered injuries to his face and arm.
A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RBM) launched at 6:40 p.m. and arrived on scene approximately two minutes later. Two members of the Coast Guard RBM boarded the boat and assisted the man into a stokes litter.
The man was taken to Vinings Landing Marina, where awaiting EMS transferred him to Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk.
