SAINT SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — The Coast Guard, along with Chatham County Rescue Services, medevac a man who was vomiting blood two-miles east of Saint Simon's Island late Saturday.
A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew medevac’d a 41-year-old man after their 18-ft vessel became disabled.
Watchstanders in Coast Guard Sector Charleston command center were notified of a disabled vessel with four persons aboard at 10:06 p.m. A Coast Guard Station Tybee 45-foot Response Boat—Medium and Chatham County Rescue crews arrived on scene to assist the disabled vessel and crew. One was vomiting blood.
Watchstanders launched an MH-65 crew and arrived on scene at 10:59 p.m. The man was transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
The RB-M crew safely towed the disabled vessel and remaining crew to Sidney Lanier Boat Ramp.
