
FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.—The Coast Guard rescued a 70-year-old man from the water in Hurricane Bay, Florida, Wednesday.
Watchstanders from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach received a report from Lee County Sheriff’s office dispatch stating a 70-year-old man was in the water clinging to a boat and in need of emergency medical assistance. The man was reported not wearing a life jacket.
A 29-foot Response Boat-Small II boatcrew was launched, arrived on scene and pulled the man from the water. The man was transported to the station where EMS awaited.
