Coast Guard responding to boat aground near Manasquan Inlet, NJ

PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard is responding to a fishing boat aground Wednesday in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey.

A crewmember aboard the 77-foot fishing boat, Capt. Gavin, homeported in Atlantic City, contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay at approximately 5:15 a.m. reporting the boat ran aground one mile south of Manasquan Inlet.

The three people aboard reported no injuries.

Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet launched a 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew in response to the vessel aground. Station Manasquan Inlet also has a crew on the beach monitoring the situation.

No pollution or damage has been reported.
