CLEVELAND — The Coast Guard found and assisted two young adults reported missing in Lake Erie in Cleveland Monday night after they reportedly jumped from a fishing pier near Wildwood Marina.
The names and ages of the young adults are unknown at this time and are not being released by the Coast Guard.
About 8 p.m. Monday night a Coast Guard boat crew from Station Cleveland Harbor was notified of two missing kids in the vicinity of Wildwood Marina. The boat crew diverted from its routine patrol and contacted the Coast Guard 9th District rescue coordination center and requested a helicopter crew from Air Station Detroit.
The boat crew located two individuals upon arriving on scene at 8:24 p.m., one of whom was alert and the other was unresponsive. The boat crew immediately began CPR while en route to Wildwood Marina where they met up with emergency medical services at the dock and transferred the patient.
EMS transported the individuals to a nearby hospital. Their current condition is unknown.
