BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard is searching Monday for a boater who was reported overdue near Cobb Island.
Missing is Douglas Romano.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a report from the Department of Natural Resources stating Romano failed to return home after a trip to Westmoreland State Park in Montross, Virginia, yesterday. Romano departed from Cobb Island at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday.
Sector Baltimore issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a 29-foot Response boat-Small II boat crew from Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Romano’s overturned boat was located from shore by Westmoreland State Park rangers. Station St. Inigoes arrived on scene and confirmed the boat belongs to Romano.
