NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is searching for a missing fisherman 70 miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama, Monday.
Missing is Carlos Ramirez Regaldo, 33, a fisherman with the fishing vessel Scatterbrain. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt and blue pants without a life jacket.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report from crewmembers of the Scatterbrain that Regaldo fell overboard from the vessel at 7:30 p.m., Sunday.
The watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew, a Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew and the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Cobia to search for Regaldo.
