HONOLULU — The Coast Guard responded to a report of an unmanned, partially submerged boat about a half mile offshore of Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach, Oahu, Monday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Honolulu received a call from a good Samaritan aboard the tour boat Holokai, at 8:18 a.m., reporting the situation. The vessel was towed into the Ala Wai Boat Harbor by good Samaritans aboard another vessel, the motor vessel Kalei.There were no signs distress or reports of missing persons. No sheen was reported.

Vessel owners are reminded to properly secure small craft in harbors, marinas and on beaches to prevent them being washed out to sea in high surf and storm conditions.
