Watchstanders at the Coast Guard 13th District Command Center were notified of the vessel’s distress via a signal from an electronic position indicating radio beacon at 8:30 p.m.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station North Bend and a 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Station Coos Bay searched the area for two fishermen, who went missing from the vessel.

WARRENTON, Ore. — The Coast Guard is continuing to search for two missing fishermen after a body was discovered on the jetty following an allision and subsequent sinking of the vessel Eagle III at the jetty near the entrance to Coos Bay, Ore., Wednesday.

Coast Guard Air Station North Bend and Coast Guard Station Coos Bay crews will continue to search for the remaining fishermen.
