WHO & WHEN:
Friday, April 22:
- Open house: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for elementary, middle and high schools. Not open to the public.
WHAT: Coast Guard Air Station Miami is scheduled to host a variety of events for Miami-Dade and Broward County school students in celebration of the centennial of Coast Guard aviation. All of the Coast Guard's missions are planned to be on display to provide maximum exposure to Coast Guard operations.
Special events planned include:
- Miami Marlins activity center
- Touch and go competition
- Career fair, jobs available from flying in the cockpit, to airport operations, cargo, tourism, and logistics
- Flight simulators
- Discovery flights
- Kid zone
- MH-65 helicopter search and rescue demonstration
