MIAMI — A search-and-rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Islamorada, Florida, rescued three five miles off the coast of Islamorada, Wednesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received notification from a good Samaritan who observed a red flare in the vicinity of Alligator Reef Light off the coast of Islamorada. Watchstanders issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and launched a boatcrew to respond. The boatcrew arrived on scene and rescued three people from their capsized 18-foot vessel.
There were no reports of any injuries.
